The Live At The Marquee Club, London Album

I sat watching two pairs of robins in my parent's garden fighting over a fat ball (apparently they come in pairs so would be no use on 'Play Your Cards Right'). They seemed like they were protecting and guarding the food.

No matter how many times they saw it happen, they had no confidence that when the food was finished, Mum would always hook up a new one. The birds had no confidence in provision. They could lead quite a different existence if they just had the knowledge that there would always be provision, from Mum or elsewhere.

There's a great story about George Müller and his trust in provision. With no food for the childrens' breakfast, all the children were still sat down as if breakfast was about to be served and he said grace. At that end of grace the baker knocked on the door offering freshly baked bread.

Only recently I was told "you're a very cynical man for your age", and to be fair, they're right. So much so that miraculous stories are often seen through my eyes as beautifully fabricated.

But this happens. A friend recently gave testimony to when they worked in an orphanage in Zimbabwe, the owner did almost exactly the same thing. With dinner time approaching and no food in the kitchen they turned on the ovens for dinner, knowing full well they didn't have the money to waste on heating ovens with nothing to cook. By the time the ovens were pre-heated the food had arrived.

Trust. And don't forget about orphanages.
